Transitions

Investigating the The Third Factor idea I have focused my attention on the manmade areas of industrial intervention, now 'extinct' from their functions, which are undergoing a changeover back to the forces of nature.

The places photographed are old ports, abandoned mines, factories which no longer exist, and any type of industrial residue which is still clearly visible in the surrounding areas. Focus of this exploration lies on the battle between the human manipulation into natural environment and nature's way of self-preserving and constantly morphing and layered lifespan.

This body of work serves as an attempt to examine the perception of natural beauty and the shifting duality of wild landscapes that originally have been 'destroyed' and are now rejuvenating back into existence.
