Beginning with the statement that there is no Wilderness left it Britain, untouched or at some having been planned, controlled or planted by man, I returned to a forest landscape frequently visited within my childhood. The sense of scale, danger and isolation this space evoked from the perspective of a child is shifted with the adult gaze which notices all the subtle traces and details of man's interaction with the landscape.
This series of photographs focuses on these half hidden reminders, which we too easily overlook, in the desire to feel more fully immersed within nature. Fences, paths and controlled plantlife are hidden within the at first glance romantic forest landscapes.
